Can you officiate, and is registration required?
Indiana sets no officiant registration or credential filing. Clergy of a religious organization, judges, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, members of the General Assembly, clerks of the circuit court, and mayors and city or town clerks within their own county may solemnize, as may several named faith traditions under their own rules. Whether an online ordination counts as clergy of a religious organization is not addressed by any official Indiana page reviewed, so ask the clerk of the circuit court. The couple gets the license from a Clerk of the Circuit Court, and it expires 60 days after issuance.
Who returns the license, and by when
The individual who solemnized files the duplicate certificate and the license with the clerk of the circuit court who issued it, not later than 30 days after the date of the marriage. A clerk who receives it in error forwards it to the issuing clerk. Confirm the window with that office.
