Can you officiate, and is registration required?
New Mexico sets no officiant registration, and a county clerk states plainly that it does not require proof of ordination and that the minister need not register credentials. An ordained member of the clergy may solemnize without regard to sect or the rites and customs practiced, as may an authorized representative of a federally recognized Indian nation, tribe or pueblo, and judges and magistrates, who charge nothing for it. Two witnesses over the age of 18 must be present at the ceremony. The couple gets the license from a county Clerk; there is no waiting period and the clerk says the license does not expire.
Who returns the license, and by when
The person who solemnized certifies the marriage to the county clerk within ninety days from the date of the marriage ceremony, the longest return window in this reference. Confirm the date with the issuing clerk.
