Return deadlines and reminders
A suggested reminder to return the signed license on time — you confirm the real deadline.
After a wedding, someone has to return the signed license to the issuing office, often within a set window. Miss it and there can be consequences.
RiteBinder can set a reminder based on the ceremony date and the state’s typical return window, so the last step does not slip through in the post-wedding calm.
The suggested window is exactly that — a suggestion. It is labeled "Suggested — confirm with your clerk," because only the issuing office knows the current, binding deadline for your county.
Confirm who returns the license, too. In some states the couple returns it; in others the officiant must. The state note flags this, and the issuing office confirms it.
Mark the license returned once it is done, and the reminder clears. The ceremony’s record keeps the date for your files.
